Design and implementation of a microcontroller-based digital filter

Abstract
This work “Design and implementation of a Microcontroller-based digital filter “is aimed at designing and Implementing the single pole low pass, high pass and band pass filter using PIC Microcontroller. The system derived was modeled and simulate with the aid of Matlab 7.5. This work involved the design and implementation of digital filters in the frequency domain, using a user-friendly based working environment on a MATLAB platform. Here, the required system equations and expressions were incorporated into the program code and operational flowcharts are designed for the sequential lines of code. The codes were written in MATLAB 7.5, thereby deriving the m-file that constituted the system. Secondly, a low level program (assembly language) is used to program the PIC Microcontroller to implement the filtering task. The microcontroller is to process an Audio signal and output a digitally filtered audio and visual output using speakers and LCD.The project thereafter serves as a training kits for both lecturers and students.
