Dynamics and control of binary distillation column

Abstract
The simulation of open loop response of binaryrndistillation column is one of the major fields of study in present industrialrnrevolution. Control of column is a challenging problem and has receivedrnconsiderable attention because of its importance in the process industry. Thisrnstudy provides the information about the simulation of open loop response inrnbinary distillation column which consists of two component mixtures forrndifferent plates using Runge-Kutta method in excel. Next, we controlled the toprntray(x2) and bottom tray(x10) of tower keeping L and V as the manipulatedrnvariable and by disturbing the feed composition we brought back to its originalrnsteady state level. The controllers used here is proportional integralrnderivative controller. We also set the delay of two hours and span of controlrnfor the distillation column.
