Abstract
Conjugate analysis of removed phosphorus concentration was carried out based on the influence of leaching solution pH and resident time during bioleaching with Acidithiobacillus Ferrooxidans. A model expressed as;rnξ = 0.0498 lnϑ + 0.003 ɤ + 0.47rnwas derived and used as tool for the analysis. The validity of the empirical model was rooted on the expression ξ - 0.003ɤ = 0.0498 lnϑ + 0.47 where both sides of the expression are correspondingly approximately equal. Statistical analysis of removed phosphorus concentration for each value of the bioleaching solution pH as obtained from experiment and derived model-predicted results show standard errors of 0.013 and 0.016% respectively. Furthermore, removed phosphorus concentration per unit solution pH as obtained from experiment and derived model-predicted results were 0.0138 and 0.0136% respectively. The maximum deviation of model-predicted removed phosphorus concentration (from experimental result) was less 6%. This translates into a derived model confidence level of above 94% as well as over 0.94 response coefficients for the dependence of removed phosphorus on initial leaching pH and leaching time.
